Process: Aztecia Slugfest

“‘Aztecia Slugfest’ is a full body of work produced over the course of two weeks in Austin, TX as part of Slugfest Printmaking Workshop. Much like the majority of Bailly’s work, the images discuss a history of the oppressed versus the oppressor, and the humanness often lacked in between. Bailly employs visual tropes of mug shots, fingerprints, chaotic crowds, and rebellion among others. Bailly’s method of monoprinting demonstrates his ability to work the same image through color and line to produce a unique desired effect.” Sofia Guerra, Curator of Process
