FIRST STEP
Once you have registered for a study abroad program or a course with Professor Bailly, please send him an email with your full name, phone number, and indicate which class you are in. It is essential you do this as early as possible, especially for study abroad. Email him at bailly.john@gmail.com

This will allow him to save your contact info automatically (as opposed to manually entering it).

STUDENT COMMUNICATION
Professor Bailly’s preferred mode of communication is WhatsApp. Unless absolutely necessary, please send messages through this platform.

Every class has a WhatsApp group. Please ask general course questions on the class chat. The TA and/or other students will often provide an answer faster than Bailly will.

For all study abroad programs, WhatsApp is proven as the most efficient method of communication. Internationally, data performs better than text. All students are required to have an international data plan while abroad.

IDENTIFY YOURSELF
It is of upmost importance that your professor can identify you. Please upload recognizable photos of yourself to your email, WhatsApp, and FIU Canvas.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Bailly’s social media is professional in nature. He posts events and opportunities for students. You can connect with him on Instagram at @johnwbailly  as “John William Bailly” on Facebook, and at @johnwbailly on Twitter.

Bailly respects student privacy and recognizes the importance of consistency. He does not follow any students on Instagram or Twitter. On Facebook, he does not send students “Friend Requests” but he does accept them. The decision and initiative is entirely the student’s.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Bailly only recommends students that he has worked with extensively. Please review recommendation criteria on this page.
